Lou Duca was born in Milazzo, in the province of Messina, in 1983. Always passionate about the applied arts, he graduated in Jewelry Design from the Art Institute of his hometown before moving to Rome, where he attended the Academy of Fine Arts, earning a degree in Painting.
In the capital—where he currently lives—he began working in the scenographic field, creating stage designs for some of the world’s most renowned opera theaters. This experience allowed him to acquire the technical skills that would later shape his own artistic vision.
The background he developed over the years has defined Lou Duca’s artistic identity, expressed through a stylistic language that spans diverse techniques such as sculpture, décollage, and video installation. His work constantly references classical texts, artworks, and architectures, reinterpreting them through a contemporary lens.
